Getting ready is, to me, one of the most emotional moments of a wedding day. Before the guests arrive, before the music begins and before you see each other for the first time, there's a very special mood in the air.
As a photographer, I love these quiet moments. When the bride takes a deep breath before the dress is fastened. When mum suddenly has tears in her eyes. When the best friend squeezes her hand once more and says: “You look beautiful.”
It's the small moments that pass so quickly and yet stay in memory forever.
That's why, during getting ready, I don't just photograph the dress, the shoes or the details. I capture the feelings that make this morning so unique – and with them, the people you share this moment with.
Because this is exactly where your story begins on this day. And often it's these very images that later bring you back into that special moment. That's exactly what I want to achieve with my work.
