Wedding on the beach of Norderney

Getting married on Norderney,
my second home

Weddings on Norderney take more than just a camera. Norderney isn't a trend location for me, but my second home.

Because my mum lives on the island, I spend a lot of private time here too. The island means slowing down, breathing and arriving again and again. I know the paths, the light and the calm of the island – and its livelier sides too. And that's exactly what makes the difference.

Norderney is car-free, and the ferry crossing already sets the tone for you and your guests: the clocks tick more slowly, everyday life stays behind on the mainland. Wide sandy beaches, dunes, salt marshes and the Wadden Sea as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site – plus the lighthouse and the small, enchanted corners of the town. This island gives your wedding a setting no ballroom in the world could recreate.

Wind in your hair, sand on your skin, truly being.

The North Sea light is my favourite tool. I know where the evening sun falls most softly, which paths and stretches of beach give you undisturbed space even in summer, where town and sea come together – and where you'll find the loveliest locations even in wind and rain. Because the weather on the island isn't a disturbance, but part of your story: a gathering sky, wind in dress and hair, the sea in the background. That's exactly what makes these images so alive.

Because I know the island and its tides, I plan the right times with you: when the tide reveals the beach, when the light is at its most beautiful, and where you escape the crowds and simply get to be the two of you. And if you like, I'll share my favourite places, paths and recommendations with you – from the quiet dune to the favourite spot for sunset.

In my images, Norderney isn't just a backdrop. The island becomes part of your unique story.

Whether a big celebration or an elopement for two – on Norderney it's not the size that counts, but the feeling. And that feeling, of wind in your hair, sand on your skin and truly being, I capture for you, so you can feel the island in your images again and again.

If that's exactly what you wish for, then take a look at my wedding coverage or simply write to me.
